My husband came home and said, “I’m in love with another woman, but I still love you, so I’ll just live in both houses” — I thought he was joking until he began packing, so I taught him a lesson he never expected from me.

“My passport is not your property,” I replied.

He stared at me.

“You followed me here?”

“I came for what you took.”

Callum turned to the officers.

“My wife and my former partner are working together because I rejected them both.”

Elena’s mouth fell open.

“You told each of us you chose her.”

“I was confused.”

“No,” I said.

“You were organized.”

Graham arrived and handed an officer the recording Vivian had made.

Callum’s face changed.

“My mother is confused.

She records things out of context.”

The

officer held up the notebook.

“Did she also write Mrs.

Ward’s banking password out of context?”

Callum said nothing.

At the next hearing, his solicitor presented an audio clip.

My voice could be heard saying, “Do whatever you think is best.”
