My Husband Tried to Take Control of My Condo. Then I Found the Secret Emails

“I know.”

“Then why did you order a valuation?”

“I was going to talk to you.”

“When?”

“When I understood whether the investment made sense.”

“So you spent our shared money researching how much you could borrow against my property before asking me?”

“I wasn’t borrowing anything without you.”

“But you were planning around my answer before you had it.”

He turned.

“I knew what your answer would be.”

“What does that mean?”

“You would have said no.”

“Maybe.”

“You definitely would have.”

“Then maybe that should have told you something.”

Michael pressed his fingers against his forehead.

“This project could change everything for us.”

“What needs changing?”

“You really don’t see it.”

“See what?”

“You have security, Emily.”

“So do you.”

“No. I have a salary.”

“A very good salary.”

“You have property. Investments. Family money. You always know that if everything falls apart, you’ll be fine.”
