My husband came home and said, “I’m in love with another woman, but I still love you, so I’ll just live in both houses” — I thought he was joking until he began packing, so I taught him a lesson he never expected from me.

“Actually, we need to discuss whose house it is,” Graham replied calmly.

Before Callum could answer, the doorbell rang.

I opened it, and Elena stepped inside.

Callum went pale.

“Why is she here?”

Elena looked

from him to me.

“You told me your wife accepted the arrangement.

You said this house was nearly sold and you were separating.”

“He told me you knew everything,” I said.

“That’s a lie!” Callum snapped.

“Both of you are twisting my words.”

Graham opened the folder.

“Then perhaps you can explain these transfers from your joint savings account.”

My hands began to shake as he placed several bank statements on the table.

Thousands had disappeared over six months.

Elena stared at one payment, then slowly removed an envelope from her handbag.

“That isn’t the worst of it,” she whispered.
