At 62, I Decided to Go on Vacation Alone for the First Time, Without My Children. But When My Daughter Received This Photo of Me at the Beach, She Started Screaming, “MOM, GET AWAY FROM THAT MAN IMMEDIATELY! YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER!” – Happy paws

I couldn’t help smiling.

Yes. I remembered.

We had only recently gotten married.

Thomas had twisted his ankle, and I’d jokingly told him I would carry him all the way to the car.

At first, he didn’t believe me.

Then he actually climbed onto my back.

I hadn’t thought about that memory in years.

“Thomas told me,” Daniel continued, “that more than anything, he wanted to see you laugh like that again.”

I covered my face with my hands.

“And what does any of this have to do with you?”

Daniel took a deep breath.

“Before I was discharged from the hospital, he asked me that if life ever brought us together again, I should remind you of that day.”

Sarah interrupted.

“Dad also asked Michael and me not to leave you alone. He wanted us to help you find happiness again.”

“But you kept me busy with your responsibilities every single day,” I whispered.
