My Husband Tried to Take Control of My Condo. Then I Found the Secret Emails

“I need you to delete every document you have related to this condo.”

“I will.”

“And I need written confirmation from Northshore that the file is closed.”

“I understand.”

“And you cannot access Michael’s accounts again.”

Linda faced him.

“I’m changing everything today.”

But she said, “All right.”

Then I asked the question that had bothered me since the hallway.

“Why were you planning to stay here?”

Linda looked embarrassed.

“I thought you might not come home.”

“Why?”

“Michael said you were working overnight.”

Michael frowned.

“I said she might work late.”

“You said she had an overnight bag.”

“My gym bag.”

Linda sighed.

“I thought if things became difficult, Michael shouldn’t be alone.”

“I’m going to Sarah’s for a few days.”

Michael glanced at me. Linda opened her mouth. Michael walked me to the door.

“Can I call you?”

“Yes.”

“When?”

“When you have something to say that isn’t about convincing me to come home.”
