“I need to see my son.”
That part was true.
“Please call me.”
I ended the message.
An hour later, Elena Mercer called.
“Mr. Keaton?”
“Where is Corinne?”
“I’m calling regarding temporary arrangements for contact with your son.”
“I asked where my wife is.”
“Corinne has instructed me not to disclose her current address.”
“She’s my wife.”
“Yes.”
“She took my child.”
“Your son is safe.”
“I want to speak to her.”
“You may communicate through counsel for now.”
“This is ridiculous.”
“Mr. Keaton, your wife has not prevented you from seeking appropriate temporary parenting arrangements.
She has requested that direct communication remain limited.”
“Why?”
“Because she does not trust you to discuss what happened without attempting to convince her that what she knows is not true.”
She continued.
“She has spent almost a year being told that things she noticed were misunderstandings.
She no longer wishes to debate facts.”
