I came home carrying ivory roses after spending nine days with my mistress, only to discover that my wife and newborn son had vanished from our house.

“How much of it does Keaton Development Group own?”

“Forty percent.”

“Then the company indirectly funded forty percent of those payments?”

“I can reimburse everything.”

“That was not my question.”

“Potentially.”

One of the founding partners, Harold Benson, rubbed his jaw.

“Jesus Christ, Grant.”

Not at myself.

At them.

All of them.

“I built this company.”

Harold’s eyes hardened.

“We built it.”

“I brought in half the clients at this table.”

“And that gives you the right to use partnership entities to hide payments to your mistress?”

“Watch how you speak to me.”

“No.

You watch how you spend our money.”

Wesley touched my arm.

“Sit down.”

“This is a private marital dispute that has been turned into a corporate witch hunt.”

The forensic accountant spoke for the first time.

“The records under review were corporate records before they became marital evidence.”

Her voice was calm.

“If the expenses were legitimate, the review will show that.”
