Pain Spreading to the Arm, Shoulder, Back, Neck, or Jaw
Heart attack discomfort does not always remain in the chest. Pain or pressure may spread to one or both arms, the shoulders, upper back, neck, or jaw.
Some people experience discomfort that feels like muscle strain, a toothache, or pressure in the upper back. The pain may occur gradually or appear suddenly.
What to watch for: Unexplained pain in these areas becomes especially concerning when accompanied by chest pressure, nausea, breathlessness, or cold sweating.
Although muscle and joint problems can cause similar symptoms, sudden unexplained discomfort should not be dismissed when other heart attack warning signs are present.
Cold Sweating
Breaking out in a cold sweat without an obvious reason can sometimes be a warning sign of a heartattack.
You may suddenly feel clammy, notice sweat on your forehead, or experience damp, cool skin even when the room is not hot and you have not been exercising.
