Raquel watched him for a few minutes before returning to her office.
He worked carefully, refusing to rush even though the repair turned out to be more complicated than expected. Nearly two hours later, the toilet was functioning perfectly.
Raquel tested it herself.
“Excellent,” she said. “You know what you’re doing.”
“Thank you, ma’am.”
She asked for his payment details and transferred the agreed amount.
Raúl checked his phone.
Then he checked it again.
“Excuse me, ma’am.”
Raquel looked up.
“Yes?”
“You sent me too much money.”
She took the phone from him, glanced at the amount, and raised an eyebrow.
“How much did we agree on?”
He told her.
“And how much did I send?”
He told her that too.
Raquel leaned back in her chair.
“You could have left without saying anything.”
“I could have.”
“Most people would have.”
“Maybe. But I wouldn’t feel right keeping money that isn’t mine.”
