A Woman Overheard Her Husband Tell a Friend, ‘She’s Aged So Much in Five Years, I Wouldn’t Even Date Her Today’ – Instead of Divorcing Him, She Taught Him a Lesson He’d Never Forget

Three weeks later, Elias entered the kitchen looking particularly cheerful.

“Happy anniversary, sweetheart! How about we order pizza tonight?”

I glanced up from my coffee.

“I actually got you a gift.”

I pushed a wrapped package across the counter. Elias grinned as he ripped away the wrapping paper, but his expression changed when he opened the box.

Inside was a note.

I’ve hidden the flash drive containing your quarterly presentation. If you want it back before Friday, you’ll have to complete a few things for me.

He stared at me in disbelief.

“Did you actually do this?”

I nodded.

For six months, Elias had been pursuing a promotion to department director. His boss, Margaret, was considering him, and Friday’s presentation was meant to secure the position.

“Are you insane?” he demanded. “Give it back!”

“Read the list.”

He unfolded the second sheet.

“A spa day? Seven nights putting the kids to bed? Cooking dinner for a week?” His voice rose. “And two evenings when I’m not allowed to call you?”
