Chapter I: Early Struggles and Resilient Beginnings
Roy Frank “RJ” Mitte III was born on August 21, 1992, in Lafayette, Louisiana. From the moment of his birth, life presented him with profound challenges. At the age of three, after experiencing physical developmental delays, RJ was diagnosed with cerebral palsy—a neurological condition affecting muscle tone, movement, and motor skills. His childhood required intensive physical therapy, leg braces, and speech therapy to help him gain functional independence.
Despite the daunting physical hurdles, RJ was surrounded by a supportive family that refused to view his condition as a limitation. His mother pushed him to stay active, engage in sports, and embrace every opportunity to build confidence. In 2006, the family relocated to Los Angeles, California, to seek advanced medical treatments and new opportunities for his younger sister’s budding career. Little did RJ know that this move would alter the trajectory of his life forever.
